Information: Frequently Asked Questions

1. When will I receive my order?

All items listed in our webshop are in stock. Once payment is received, your order will always be shipped within 2 business days.

If you choose to stack your comics and ship them later (for example at the end of the month), your order will be shipped when you request it.
If no request is made, we will send you a shipment confirmation request by email in the first week of the new month.

Once your parcel is shipped, you will automatically receive an email containing your track & trace link.

2. What are the shipping costs?

We ship via PostNL. Payments can be made safely using iDEAL, PayPal, Bancontact, credit card or Klarna.

1–6 comics
Shipped in protective sleeves and a compact comic mailer.

  • Netherlands: €5.50
  • Belgium: €9.50

More than 6 comics
Shipped in protective sleeves and a large comic mailer or sturdy box.

  • Netherlands: €7.50
  • Belgium: €9.50

You also earn Shortbucks with every purchase. Once you’ve collected enough Shortbucks, you can unlock a shipping voucher and choose when to use it.

This gives you more flexibility: save your Shortbucks for shipping, discounts, or other rewards — it’s entirely up to you.

3. Do you ship mailbox parcels?

Yes. Our lowest rate is a mailbox parcel. Please note: these comic mailers can hold a maximum of 6 comics.

4. How do I place an order?

Ordering is simple. Click the Order button on a product page to add an item to your cart. Proceed to checkout via the cart icon. Our checkout is a single-page layout for fast and clear ordering.

5. Which payment methods are available?

  • Klarna (30 days deferred payment)
  • Credit cards
  • Cash (pickup by appointment)
  • Debit card (pickup by appointment)

6. Can I pay after shipping?

In some cases, purchasing on credit is possible, or use Klarna. Please contact us via the contact form to discuss further options.

You can also claim comics using the code CLAIMCOMIC. This allows you to reserve comics without paying upfront. Choose “do not ship” at checkout and we’ll stack them for you.

7. Will I receive an invoice?

Yes. All communication is handled via email. After placing your order, you’ll receive an order confirmation with all details, prices and shipping costs. This email also serves as your invoice.

8. Can I return items?

If Shortbox Comics made an error, the item or shipment will be replaced at our expense.

If you change your mind, returns are possible after consultation. Shipping costs (both ways) are at your expense. Returns are accepted up to 14 days after receiving your order.

Minor packaging wear or small handling marks on comics do not qualify for free returns.

9. Can I cancel my order?

If you change your mind, please contact us as soon as possible. Orders can be cancelled if they have not yet shipped. If already shipped, the return policy above applies.

10. I’m looking for comics not listed on the site

Looking for something specific? Let us know. We have a large inventory and are happy to check availability for you.

11. What condition are the comics in?

We only sell comics in great condition. If a comic is below high grade, this is clearly mentioned in the product title as MID or LOW.

If you only collect near-mint copies, feel free to contact us beforehand. We’re happy to provide photos. If something is genuinely wrong, we’ll always fix it.

12. Does Shortbox Comics buy comic collections?

Yes. We are always looking for new inventory. If you have 500 comics or more for sale, please contact us via the contact form.

Our offers are based on print run, market value, expected condition and our current stock. Shipping is handled by us, and our offers are fair — often higher than average buyers.

13. Can I sell my comics through you?

Yes. We can als offer you a consignment program if you have less then 500 comics available for sale. We will sell your comics for you and you'll reveive a fixed fee for the comics we sell. Contact us for more information.

We also run a dedicated Facebook group where you can sell comics for free. The group has around 650 active buyers.

If you want to sell a large collection at once without negotiations or hassle, see question 12 — it saves a lot of time.

14. Can I pick up my order?

We don’t operate a traditional retail store with fixed opening hours. However, you’re welcome to pick up your order in Raalte, Overijssel.

In-person shopping is possible by appointment only. This ensures we’re present and the right inventory is available. Send us a message with what you’re looking for and we’ll prepare everything.
